You play as Robert Robertson (voiced by Aaron Paul), dispatcher for the Superhero Dispatch Network's dysfunctional Z-Team—a roster of 8 reformed villains and misfit heroes operating in Los Angeles. Your role combines strategic resource management with narrative choice: deciding which heroes to send on emergencies while managing their injuries, cooldowns, relationships, and personal dramas.
Five core stats (Combat, Intellect, Charisma, Mobility, Vigor) determine mission success, but hero relationships, special abilities, and positioning mechanics create deep strategic complexity. Send injured heroes and watch their stats drop. Ignore relationship conflicts and suffer team penalties. Deploy heroes in the wrong slot and waste their unique abilities.
